Hans Talhoffers Fencing Poem, transcription and translation from Thott 290 2°

The following markverses Hans Talhoffer placed in his 1459 book, that is now part of  collection of the Royal Library in Copenhagen and filed under Thott 290 2°. Some of the lines of this poem are identical to the one in the MI29 transcribed and translated in this posting.

Willst du dass dir das Fechten glückt
Sei frisch verhalte nicht lang in den Stücken
Dazu hübsch lachen

Das tue im Schwert
Wie der Talhoffer lehrt
Im Schwert sollst du niemanden trauen noch glauben
So rinnt dir das Blut nicht über die Augen
